Dental veneers  is a popular cosmetic treatment that involves bonding custom-made ceramic laminates to the front surface of the teeth. Not only can veneers conceal chips, cracks, and stains but they can also close gaps in the teeth to create a white, even smile.

Dental veneers are minimally invasive

Advances in ceramic technology and resin bonding systems have transformed the concept of ‘designing a smile’ using composite and porcelain veneers. Preparation varies from one patient to another but is usually minimal. Where necessary, our dentist trims a minimal 0.5mm – 1mm of enamel from a tooth to accommodate porcelain veneers. 

What about porcelain veneers, what’s the procedure?

Our patients come from all over Sydney to see Dr Jacob Stretton for his gentle nature, kind and gentle approach and most importantly his attention to detail. The initial assessment can take 45 minutes to fully understand why you want veneers and the look you are going for.  Preoperative photos, xrays and a digital 3D scan of your teeth will be taken to create a personal custom set of veneers. Tooth shades are selected in our clinic and our patients usually visit our dental technician for another assessment to ensure the shape, shade and size of the veneers are correct. Some of our patients want to see a virtual mockup of the final veneers before finishing. This is possible with our Trios smile design software.

What happens next?

At your second visit, the teeth receiving the veneers will be minimally prepared by our Cosmetic Dentist Dr Stretton. A digital Trios scan of the prepared teeth with be sent to our technician. Temporary veneers may be fitted to provide a provisional aesthetic restoration. In the meantime, your permanent porcelain veneers will be crafted.

At the final visit, your temporary veneers are carefully removed, and your bespoke porcelain veneers tried on for comfort and fit. If you are happy with how your new smile looks, our dentist will bond your permanent veneers to your teeth.
